Phenomenal Women Visual Journal Group

Supporting both sides of the brain!

This group will invite the right and left sides of your brain to merge and become better friends! Each person will make a beautiful hand bound visual journal to be used every week in group. What is a visual journal? It is an ‘everything-but-the kitchen-sink' kind of book full of pasted images, photos, drawings, words, writings, and splotches of paint! We will short circuit your inner critic and, through a variety of exercises, unlock and strengthen the creative and ‘real’ you through activities that stimulate right and left brain self-expression. Along the way, you will learn many techniques which will invite you to deepen your experience with your visual journal and, most importantly, yourself. You will be amazed at how incredible the visual journal process is for play, reflection, discovery.

In this group you will paint and draw with childlike abandon, glue images into your journal and, with fast-paced prompts, write your heart out. This is not about making art. This is not an art class. Your visual journal will be bursting with life and energy and, therefore, will be treasured and beautiful. One underlying theme is learning to ‘trust the process’ by being open to the unknown, and learning how to use your visual journal to resolve life's difficulties and creating the life you most desire. This group will be be playful, fun, and (at times) intense. This is a group for those who want to stretch their limits, get out of their own way, and get to the heart of the matter— which is where the magic resides.

The Phenomenal Women's group is based on the belief that every woman, in all of her strengths and vulnerabilities, is phenomenal
